Privacy policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Vanity Reset Co ("we," "us," "our") runs the online store at vanityresetco.com (the "Services"). The store is operated by Matt G Home, a sole proprietorship based in New Jersey, United States. Vanity Reset Co is powered by Shopify. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

If this Privacy Policy conflicts with our Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy controls for anything to do with your personal information.

Quick summary

  • We collect what we need to take your order, ship it, handle returns, answer your emails, and run the store.
  • We do not sell your information for money. Like most online stores, we use advertising and analytics tools (Shopify Analytics and the Pinterest tag) that may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state laws. You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.
  • We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out request.
  • Questions or requests: email austin.merkari.1549@gmail.com or use our contact form.

Personal information we collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number.
  • Order and transaction information: items you view, add to cart, buy, return, or cancel; order history.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify and the payment providers shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login details and preferences.
  • Communications: what you send us by email or the contact form, including photos you send for damaged-item claims.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, and similar information collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, health information, or precise geolocation) and we do not use any personal information to infer characteristics about you beyond what is described here.

Where we get it

  • From you, when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails, or contact us.
  • Automatically, from your browser or device through cookies and similar technologies.
  • From service providers and partners, such as Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, and advertising or analytics partners.

How we use it

  • To run the store and fill orders: process payments, pass your order and shipping address to our suppliers and carriers, send order and shipping updates, and handle returns and refunds.
  • Customer support: answer questions and resolve problems.
  • Marketing: send emails you signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time) and show ads for our products on other sites and apps, including ads based on what you viewed or bought here.
  • Analytics and improvement: understand how the site is used so we can fix problems and improve it.
  • Security and fraud prevention: detect and prevent fraud or misuse.
  • Legal reasons: comply with the law, respond to valid legal requests, and enforce our terms.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes checkout. Shopify also uses some data to provide its own services; see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.
  • Payment processors, to process and protect your payment.
  • Suppliers and fulfillment partners. We do not make or warehouse our products. Your name, shipping address, phone number (if given), and order details are shared with our suppliers and fulfillment partners (for example CJdropshipping and AliExpress sellers, which may be located outside the United States, including in China) so they can pack and ship your order.
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your order and provide tracking.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, through cookies, pixels, and apps installed on our store. Today this means Shopify's own analytics and the Pinterest tag (installed through the Pinterest app for Shopify), which tells Pinterest about visits, product views, and purchases so we can measure and show ads on Pinterest. If we add other advertising tools, we will update this policy. These partners use the information under their own privacy policies.
  • Email and messaging tools we use to send order updates and newsletters.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to:

  • Make the store work (necessary): keep items in your cart, remember your session, and process checkout. These cannot be turned off.
  • Remember preferences: such as your region or language.
  • Analytics: measure visits and how the store is used (Shopify Analytics).
  • Marketing: measure ads and show you relevant ads on other sites and apps (the Pinterest tag).

Your choices: Where a cookie banner is shown, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising on our Your Privacy Choices page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the store (like the cart) may stop working. For a list of the cookies Shopify sets, see Shopify's cookie policy.

Global Privacy Control: If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale/sharing for that browser (and for your account if we can link it). We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.

Your US state privacy rights (including California)

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, New Jersey, and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Know / access the personal information we have about you, and get a copy (portability).
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information, subject to exceptions (for example, records we must keep for taxes or fraud prevention).
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your information and of targeted advertising.
  • Appeal if we decline your request, by replying to our decision email with "Appeal" in the subject line.
  • Not be discriminated against for using these rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. However, the advertising and analytics tools on our store (described above) may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) and similar laws. In the past 12 months, the categories involved were identifiers (such as IP address and cookie IDs), commercial information (products viewed or purchased), and internet activity on our store, disclosed to advertising and analytics partners. To opt out, visit Your Privacy Choices or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

How to make a request

Email austin.merkari.1549@gmail.com (or use our contact form) with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your request by matching information you give us (such as your email and an order number) with our records. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof that you authorized them. We aim to respond within 45 days, as required by law. You can also make requests about data Shopify processes through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, for example for as long as you have an account, and for order records as long as needed for taxes, accounting, chargebacks, and legal claims. We then delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use Shopify's secure, encrypted checkout and limit who can access your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not email us sensitive information such as card numbers.

Children

The Services are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and ship only within the US. Some of our service providers and suppliers process information outside the US, including in China. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate.

Third-party links

Our site may link to other sites (such as social media). Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date.
